OUR BEER

Unfiltered and unpasteurized, the beer “Lyra”, hangs out in the most beautiful spots of Crete and the Aegean, accompanied by traditional music and the sounds that the play of the sea with the coast causes.

In one such bay of Kissamos, there is the model Mediterranean Microbrewery of Crete, which brews beer in limited quantities, but with plenty of passion and passion.

Made with pure raw materials, Greek barley, selected hops and high quality yeast without additives and preservatives.

about us

Having been abroad for several years with love and passion for beer and knowing that Greece has no history in this regard, we made a decision. The subject was difficult, but the prospect looked good and the enthusiasm was great. So were the expectations… The reason for the Mediterranean Microbrewery of Crete… In the place of origin, in the place of our homeland, where with enthusiasm, study and experiments on brewing in August 2015 in Kastelli Kissamos in the prefecture of Chania, Crete, Haris Maragoudakis bottled the first fresh, sparkling and unfiltered beer with the brand name “LYRA” and a shelf life of about four months. It is a Golden Ale, consisting of 5.8% Alcohol in a 330ml package, produced with Greek malts and distinguished for its rich floral aromas with the trichord, arching, opaque traditional Cretan musical instrument, the Cretan Lyre, dominating the label. The beer was liked, the idea evolved, LYRA was bottled, branded, promoted and today it has a presence in more than 400 points throughout Greece, which is as many as it can handle since the production is sufficient up to 250.000 bottles per year. Thus was born LYRA, our local, ambitious, fresh beer…
